Why Western Razor?
You might be thinking, it’s 2025. Razors have advanced to the point where they have multi-blades, aloe strips, Bluetooth connectivity, and apps. Why switch to a safety razor? This post will answer that question and more.
There was no reason to mess with a good thing
When the safety razor was commercially introduced in the early 1900’s it quickly became the norm until big plastic razor companies decided they wanted more money and unveiled the disposable cartridge razor. What we exchanged for so-called convenience was a tried and tested way to shave.
Unlike multi-blade cartridge razors, your Western Razor won’t clog with hair and shaving cream, only contains a single blade, and cuts hair right at the surface. In other words, it was a nearly foolproof way to prevent razor burn and ingrown hairs. No chemical aloe strips needed.
Western Razor is a cleaner shave
Speaking of aloe strips, did you know the ones found on cartridge razors are made with other ingredients besides aloe? For instance a chemical called polyethylene oxide (PEO) which is also used in adhesives and electronics.
But shaving with a premium safety razor like Western Razor is also environmentally cleaner. Because our razors are 100% metal, it means you aren’t contributing plastics and unnecessary chemicals to the landfill. Our razors pretty much last a lifetime. And often you can recycle the used razor blades, too (check your local jurisdiction for recycling and disposal recommendations).
So it’s better for your face and better for the environment.
The savings add up
As our cost comparison graph shows, an investment in Western Razor can save you thousands of dollars over your lifetime. Not just because our replacement blades literally cost a few dimes (compared to cartridges, which cost dollars each) but also because Western Razor doesn't believe in locking you into expensive subscription models.
It’s safe and easy to use
The word “safety” is in the name for a reason and the learning curve is small. To assemble, all you have to do is unscrew the head, carefully place the blade and guard on the pegs, and screw it back together. Use any shaving cream you want and shave with the razor at a 30 degree angle to the skin and you are good to go. Rinse the razor off between shaves, and after a few shaves or when the blade gets dull, you unscrew it and replace it with a new one. It really is that easy.
It’s made in the USA
At Western Razor, we pride ourselves on manufacturing all of our products in America. At a time when companies are outsourcing manufacturing in a race to the bottom or scrambling to figure out how to get their products in from China with all the tariffs, it’s easier for us to build, deliver, and maintain quality control here at home. And, it keeps jobs in this country, too. It’s not always easy, but we know it’s worth it.
Make the switch to Western Razor and enjoy a better shave.
